About Gina

I’m a 22 year old currently attaining my BFA in Acting at Wayne State University, with double minors in Musical Theatre and Fashion Design. I’m a performer with work spanning both theatre & film, as well as a creative who dabbles in choreography, costume design, poetry, and many other artistic outlets.

Gina Onstage:

Amélie

While times may be hard for dreamers, dreaming is all that Amélie Poulain does. I played the role of Amélie, an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world but loudly in her mind. When a chance at love comes her way, she has to risk everything and say what’s in her heart.

Urinetown

Urinetown is a musical satire about a fictional city where a water shortage has led to a draconian ban on private toilets. I played the role of Senator Fipp, A greedy politician in Cladwell’s pocket. A creepy cowardly man, age 40-60, who hides all of his crimes through politics. I was also the dance captain/ensemble.

The Wolves

The Wolves is a play that portraits life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine girls who just want to score some soccer goals. I played the role of #46, Bench. New girl. Awkward, different, just wants to fit in. Sixteen.

Into the Woods

Into the Woods is a musical that intertwines several classic fairy tales all facing their own desires. I was dance captain as well as Cinderella’s Mother, a deceased character whose soul protects and helps her daughter from a tree.

Cabaret

Cabaret is a musical about the rise of Nazism in 1920s Berlin, set in the Kit Kat Klub cabaret and centered around the relationships between its performers and patrons. I was the Fraulein Kost understudy as well as Fritzie, one of the six Kit Kat girls.

June, July, August

A coming of age story set in the Junior Counselor Bunk at an all-girls summer camp, June, July, August explores critical moments of no-turning-back. I played Fiona, the Regina George of the camp. She’s the stubborn, yet beautiful, co-head camp counselor whose mission is to belittle others until a life altering event completely changes how she views herself and the world.

Fly by Night

Fly by Night is a musical about a love triangle between Daphne, her sister Miriam, and Harold, a deli worker. It is a tale about making your way and discovering hope in a world beset by darkness. I played the role of Daphne, An aspiring actress who moves to New York in the hopes of achieving her dreams.

The People vs Friar Laurence

The People Vs. Friar Laurence, The Man Who Killed Romeo and Juliet is the Romeo and Juliet story told from the perspective of Friar Laurence. I played Actor 3,  whose track includes Benvolio, Romeo’s best friend, as well as Anselm Sister, Serving Wench, Friar John, Terry the Executioner, and Rosaline.

The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals

In the seemingly normal town of Hatchetfield, people start singing and dancing, and a musical pandemic takes hold. An average guy who hates musicals and his friends must fight to save humanity. I played Charlotte, an anxious office working woman committed to a failing marriage with Sam, and Smoke Club Member #2, a girl that is really good at smoking weed.

Cheaper by the Dozen

Cheaper by the Dozen is told from the perspective of two of the Gilbreth children, Ernestine and Frank, reflecting on the months before their father’s death. It is
a dramatization of the true story of the Gilbreth family. I played Ernestine, the 15 year old co-narrator and second oldest of the family.

Princess Celebration

This tale follows several Disney characters as they celebrate Anna’s engagement to Kristoff. I played Merida, a headstrong and free-spirited 16-year-old princess who loves archery.

More Princesses:

I have been working at a company called Fairytale Entertainment for several years now, and below are more princesses that I have played!

Grease (Arts for Autism)

The Bethany Caldarona Performance Studio had the opportunity to visit New York City to participate in Arts for Autism and perform on the Gershwin stage. The studio performed a medley of Grease songs and I was a part of the ensemble

Currently working on…
